If you have a front end collision, then your air conditioning can be compromised. For your air conditioning system to work properly, the lines need to be free from leaks so that there is adequate refrigerant in the system. Although the AC lines are tough, they cannot withstand the impact of a front end collision. Even if you do not involved in a collision, every spring your AC should be inspected. AC units are not leak proof and over time, seals, O-rings, and connections fail.
During an AC inspection, the refrigerant pressure is checked, along with the temperature of the air that is produced. The technician visually inspects the entire system, vacuum tests the system and recharges using the appropriate refrigerant to the system capacity according to the vehicle manufacturer's specifications.
